This is probably the hardest tour we organize and it require very good physical form and fit. We don’t accept children on this tour! The tour starts with pick-up from your hotel in the Southern part of the island and then we go up to the hart of Tenerife – to the foot of Mt. Blanca at the altitude of 2200m over the sea level.
On the route, which gradually approaches to the mountain, we reach first the upstream back of the Montaña Blanca with the “Teide eggs”. The wide trail leads not too steep by pumice and lava fields. After about 1h and 30min, the path becomes steeper and we get to the refuge Refugio de Altavista.
Over frozen lava flows we are heading in direction to the mountain station of the cable car.
With our organized official permit we to go all the way up to Teide summit on the altitude 3718m, reaching the highest point of Atlantic Ocean and the highest point of Spain as well. The view is great and with good weather the neighboring islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma and Gran Canaria can be seen. The wide and deep views are overwhelming.
After relax on the summit we descend to the cable car station where we take the cable car back down.
Tour price doesn’t include cable car tickets which cost 13.50 Eur per person (the only way down).
IMPORTANT: For security reasons the cable car will operate depending on the meteorological conditions. In the case of strong wind the cable car will be closed and we wouldn’t have the option to use it. Usually it can happen winter time and almost never during the summer. In the case, if cable car isn’t working, we will have to go down by feet and you should be prepared for that possibility.
